SCHOLARSHIP
“Men join fraternities – leaders of men join Sigma Chi”
John Wayne, USC 1929
Sigma Chi is a fraternity of men dedicated to the ideals of Friendship, Justice, and Learning. We have returned to our home in the Spring of 2016 and have been recruiting outstanding individuals ever since. Now, we are seeking outstanding young men – leaders – to serve that initiative and be the men to continue the tradition of the Alpha Chapter. Through the generosity of a farsighted alumnus, Brother Jack Anderson ’48, we have established a scholarship fund through the University to support building a chapter in service to those ideals.
We are seeking to identify and encourage leaders – those men with ambitious purposes, men of honor and good character, and strong students, men who seek to pledge their service to a calling larger than themselves. Leaders in word AND in action.
If you are seeking a fraternity experience above and beyond the ordinary, with deeper meaning than just a series of social gatherings; if you have what it takes to be a leader, or already are one, we encourage you to apply for a scholarship without delay.
We are offering up to $10,000 in total scholarships, from $500 to $1,000 for an individual.
The application process consists of online application, which include one short (400 word) essay component, and it is expected to be completed by the end of November.
Applying for or winning a scholarship does NOT mean that you must rush or choose to pledge Sigma Chi.
Please fill out the document below and send to zakenjs@miamioh.edu with the subject line "Sigma Chi Freshmen Leadership Scholarship" by the End of November.
